I just found out the audio version of my Aurora-nominated story, “No Sweeter Art” (Beneath Ceaseless Skies) appears to be a finalist for the 2015 Parsec Awards in the category of BEST SPECULATIVE FICTION STORY: SMALL CAST (SHORT FORM). The Parsec Awards celebrate the best of speculative fiction podcasting.

Apparently there were some late-discovered scoring and eligibility issues that required an updated list of finalists in my category, and as a result I am now a Parsec finalist. Here’s the new list.

Best Speculative Fiction Story: Small Cast (Short Form)
Short stories containing elements of science fiction, fantasy or horror where the storytelling uses narration as its primary means to convey scene and action and uses fewer than three people for the story presentation.

Finalists:

I believe the Parsec Awards will be announced September 5 at DragonCon.

Two recent bits of news:

A new Professor Voss story, “Our Chymical Séance”, will appear in Clockwork Canada: Steampunk Fiction (edited by Dominik Parisien). Here’s the TOC at Black Gate.

“The Marotte” will be reprinted in Imaginarium 4: The Best Canadian Speculative Writing, a best-of anthology edited by Sandra Kasturi and Jerome Stueart. Here’s the TOC.

To celebrate the release of THE MAMMOTH BOOK OF DIESELPUNK, edited by Sean Wallace, my “Cosmobotica” co-author Costi Gurgu and I did an author photo that pays homage to the original cover by Joe Roberts (http://JoeRoberts.co.uk). A big thank you to Vali for the photo shoot, and to Costi for designing the final image. It was a blast!
