In the shape of a swordfish I swam deeper into murk, where I felt the pull of an otherworldly current. I gulped its magic as I swam across the centuries, night and
day in strobe above. It troubled me that my travel through time took little effort, and that trash–like plastic bags, bottle tops, and torn shirts–followed in my wake.
